How to restore a component

All Joomla components can be divided into two groups: standard components (included in the distribution) and the components of third-party developers. Using Task Manager Joomla administration panel you can remove and install new components. Beginners often asked question: How to recover a standard component? Where to get the distribution of a standard component Joomla?

Let’s look at how to restore the example of a standard component Weblinks. To re-install this component, we need a distribution component, so let’s create it:

  1. Create any directory on your local computer.
  2. Copy this temp folder contents of directories / Components / com_weblinks / and / Administrator / components / com_weblinks / distribution Joomla.
  3. Packs we created a file folder component in Zip-archive (for example, by archiver WinZip).

All we have prepared the distribution component of Weblinks. Now we can go to the manager component Joomla admin panel and re- install components Weblinks.

Note: If you remove the standard components of Joomla, tables of these components are stored in a database, so that no data will be lost when you uninstall.
