Another trick from the menu

Sometimes you need to make sure that the site opens with a particular page (with a component, for example). But while the menu item that leads to this component, you want to leave in place and not move it to the first position (as is known, the main menu item, which stands at the first position is a starting point for the Joomla open site). In this article we describe how this can be realized.

The proposed method is based on the fact that Joomla as the initial page displays what is the first item on the Start menu, but does not check whether the self-published the main menu or not.

1. Create all the necessary items in the main menu (mainmenu)
2. The first position in the main menu put that point that we will have “Home” Site
3. Create a sub-menu
4. Repeat for additional items of the main menu, all but the first item on doing that which we like
5. Remove from the publication of the module main menu
6. Publish the module in its place additional menu

After these manipulations we get the desired result: start page leads to the desired component and there is no need to stir a reference to this component of the first item on the menu.
