  1. Highlight the word, phrase or image (after you insert the image) you would like be a link.
  2. Use the icon_link.gif icon to open the Link Manager Window. See details in graphic below. 

External  Link

  1. If you want to link to an extrernal link, open a 2nd browser window and browse to the page to which you would like to link.
  2. Copy and paste the full path of that page address (starting with “http://”), go back to the Link Manager, and paste the link path into the field called “Link URL”


Email Link
Would you like a link to launch your client's email accout with your email address pre-populated? 

  1. Add your email address ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) to the "Address" box
  2. You can skip the "title" unless you know exactly what you want to recommend the subject be. 

 

Internal Link

  1. Would you like to link to an entire Section's worth of content? Choose link to: Section.
  2. Would you like to link to a single page of content?  Choose link to: Article 

    You get the idea!

It sounds like you are still working with the default Joomla link manager. Did you install the JCE Content Editor? (google it) After installing it, you have to change your WYSIWYG in your Global Settings.

I am trying to create an internal link but my Link Manager Window only displays the top part for linking externally. There is no area for email and internal links. Do you know why that may be? Thanks

Are you using the JCE WYSIWYG? Do you know? If so, I'd be happy to take a look at it for you. If not, then I highly recommend installing JCE. Just google "Joomla JCE." I know anchor links work there.

I've been having problems using Joomla's anchor links - the automatic feature doesn't insert the correct URL for anchors on the same page. Is anyone else having this problem?
