About me
Wednesday, 19 March 2008

amanda So, you want to know who I am, eh? I'm AmandaMalia on the Joomla forums, an ENFJ and an Enneagram #7 .

I've designed and developed something like 15 Joomla websites by now. I'm a ColdFusion programmer by training. I've spent many years as a manager in corporate Internet communications and development. I'm passionate about user interface design, usability and websites that work. I've heard far too many stories from clients about websites not working and being too expensive or difficult to maintain. I'm committed to changing that.

I'm currently Founder and Executive Producer of Soapbox, "the dot org people." I'm not a pure Joomlist. I don't shun Microsoft, RoR (love it so far) or Drupal even, I just happen to know Joomla well so I preach it constantly.

I first discovered Joomla two years ago when looking for a cost effective way to add a WYSIWYG to a text editor for a new client. Having been part of teams that have produced Content Management Systems and CRM tools from scratch for 10 years, I was overwhelmed with joy when I first experienced Joomla. Given it's open source status, blossoming development community, and responsive support forums I knew I couldn't go wrong. With open source, anything's possible.
